Welcome to POLKY: Polish Feminist Fiddle Alt Folk!
Polky is a fiddle-driven feminist alt folk band bringing Polish folk music to North American audiences. Led by Canadian Folk Music Award winner Ewelina Ferenc and featuring the rare Suka from Bilgoraj, the Toronto-based group blends traditional songs with bold contemporary arrangements, creating a sound that is both deeply rooted in tradition and strikingly fresh.
Led by Polish immigrant musicians Marta Solek (Kraków) and Ewelina Ferenc (Katowice), Polky connects Polish and Slavic folk traditions with the creative energy of Toronto. Touring across Canada and the U.S., the band reimagines folk music through a modern lens, showing how tradition can evolve, travel, and thrive far from its roots.
Following their acclaimed debut album, Songs From Home, Polky returns with Mother Tongue (September 29), a powerful new album that combines ancient melodies, driving drums, electric guitar, multilingual voices, and a distinctly feminist perspective.
