DANCE TEACHERS
Stephania Woloshyn - Ukrainian dances
Stephania Woloshyn is a Toronto based dancer. Since early childhood, she has trained extensively in Ukrainian folk dance, performing with several of Toronto’s Ukrainian dance companies, as well as attending specialized workshops under the instruction of the Virsky National Dance Company of Ukraine, and The National University of Arts and Culture in Kyiv. She has also had 15 years of ballet training, and has been focusing her recent studies on the art of Belly Dance and Gypsy dance. She brings original choreography to her performances as a solo artist, as well as to her role as the sole dancer for Toronto’s Lemon Bucket Orkestra. She fuses eastern European gypsy dance, Ukrainian folk dance and Belly Dance to create dynamic, energetic and interactive performances. When she’s not dancing, Stephania works as a Toronto-based multi-disciplinary designer with a focus on Interior Design and Set Design for film. She has completed university degrees in both Architecture and Industrial Design and in her spare time enjoys exploring her other passions including painting, jewelry, fashion design, and of course, teaching and sharing her life-long love of dance.
Alicja Stasiuk - Polish dances
Alicja Stasiuk started her dancing adventure when she was just 5 years old, and she has been dancing ever since. She learned to dance and sing, and felt in love with folklore in Lubuski Dance and Song Ensemble in Zielona Góra, Poland.
Alicja is a true folklore passionate. It is said that she had danced even before she was born, because she just followed her mother's steps, who also was a folk dancer. Folklore culture and dancing have been always a huge part of her life, all along the way, and she can't imagine her life without it. She is truly dedicated to her work, and the love and passion she has for Polish folklore, makes her desire to share and spread the knowledge and skills she gained during her almost 19 years of dancing experience.
